Audimute 3 mm Peacemaker Sound Barrier is an excellent choice for soundproofing. Use between walls, ceilings, and floors to effectively reduce sound transmission and achieve the sound quality you desire. Perfect for homes, offices, studios, restaurants, and any other space where you are seeking to help block sound from entering or exiting.
Peacemaker is also available as Peacemaker Soundproofing Underlayment - 6 mm. It’s important to note that thicker does not necessarily mean more effective when considering Peacemaker. Our 6 mm Peacemaker thickness is designed to act as an underlayment in flooring applications and does not block airborne sound quite as well as our 3 mm Peacemaker thickness. If you are interested in blocking airborne sound, our 3 mm Peacemaker Sound Barrier will be the most effective choice.
Peacemaker is an environmentally friendly noise control solution made from recycled tire rubber material. It is a durable and renewable “Green” building material containing 90% post-consumer recycled material. Most new rubber products will emit various organic compounds which have a characteristic smell like that of a newly painted room. When properly installed in your wall, floor, or ceiling, these odors will be undetected. If left exposed, in an area with little ventilation, Peacemaker will emit a harmless low-level odor which will lessen over time and poses no health risks. Please note, individuals with increased sensitivity to smell may find this odor unpleasant.
Peacemaker can be used outdoors. The same principles of soundproofing apply: increase mass and significantly reduce/eliminate air flow. In addition to mass and air flow, it is ideal to create a constrained-layer in which Audimute Peacemaker is sandwiched between two layers of harder, more dense materials. The sound energy dissipates in the middle layer because of its elasticity and the change in density.
