The Audimute Acoustic Door Seal Kit helps to soundproof a door by reducing the sound that's entering or exiting a room via the air gaps around that door. Since sound can travel anywhere air can travel, even doors that appear to be tightly fitted against the frame or floor will have gaps where sound can get through. Our Acoustic Door Seal Kit comes with a roll of Acoustic Door Seal tape and an Acoustic Door Sweep to seal those gaps and give you the peace and quiet you deserve.
The Acoustic Door Seal is designed to be adhered to the door frame and compresses when the door is closed, creating an airtight space to help block sound transfer. The Acoustic Door Sweep is designed to be installed on the bottom side of the door to cover the space between the door and the floor.
To better soundproof a door, we recommend coupling our Door Seal Kit with an isolé Sound Barrier Sheet. isolé is a 2-in-1 sound absorption and sound blocking solution that helps reduce sound from transferring directly through a door, whereas the Acoustic Door Seal Kit reduces sound from transferring through the gaps around the door.
A Standard Door Seal Kit treats 1 standard size (36" x 80") door and includes:
(1) roll of one-sided, self-adhesive Acoustic Door Seal tape - 3/16"x1/2"x25'
(1) roll of one-sided, self-adhesive Door Sweep tape - 1/2"x1.5"x4'
A Large Door Seal Kit treats up to 4 standard size (36" x 80") doors and includes:
(2) rolls of one-sided, self-adhesive Acoustic Door Seal tape - 3/16"x1/2"x50'
(1) roll of one-sided, self-adhesive Door Sweep tape - 1/2"x1.5"x25'
The rolls are made out of strong, resilient foam, and are easy to adhere. This is a quick and effective solution for homes, apartments, studios, vocal booths, and more.
Installation instructions for our Acoustic Door Seal Kit can be found here.
Please Note: To remove, we recommend using a hair dryer or heat gun to break down the adhesive to minimize the chance of paint being removed with the tape.

I was skeptical when I received this kit. The thin door frame lining weather stripping has held up better than the door sweep, but the door sweep is not good. If you attach it in such a way that it actually seals with the floor, it’s just going to drag against the ground and eventually come unglued from your door. Which is exactly what it did only...Read MoreRead more about I was skeptical when I received this

I bought this tape along with the isole Sound Barrier Sheet to block sound (singing) going through my bedroom door. The tape was very easy to install. I learned just how uneven my old door is because I had to leave some areas along the frame without tape or the door wouldn't close; placing the tape was an iterative, piecemeal process. Also, the ga...Read MoreRead more about I bought this tape along with the
p between the bottom of my door and the floor went from 1.5" at one end of the door to 0.5" at the other end. I adjusted the large tape to fill the gap in a slant, and when I opened the door I learned that my floor slanted also but in the opposite direction so I had to leave a gap between the tape and the floor to open the door. I guess the bottom of the door was purposely cut to 1.5" on the outer edge so that it would swing wide open; it now opens only halfway but I'm good with that. I took the attached photo with all the lights out in the hallway, and you can see slivers of light where I couldn't put the tape and the isole sheet didn't overlap the frame. Before, light shown all around the door, so you can see that there is good coverage. Read LessRead less about I bought this tape along with the

Q: on the door seal tape measurements, is it 3/16 or 1/2 inch for the thickness? i'm concerned if it will be thick enough to seal the gap, what to do if not thick enough? can another layer be applied to the door seal tape?

A: Hello Tom, The Door Seal Kits come with two different tapes. The one for the sweep is Door Sweep tape - 1/2"x1.5"x4. That is 1/2 thick and meant only for the gap at the bottom of the door. The 3/16" thick tape you mentioned would be for the tape that goes around the jamb of the door. If the 1/2" thick tape is not enough, you can try to layer it to cover the gap more. Q: Hi I’m hoping to seal my front door to help with the noise. There is about 1-1.5 inch gap on bottom and width of door is 36inch. Would the standard door kit work or would I need a large?

A: Hello Justin, The section of the door you are referring to would be at the bottom so you would be talking about the Door Sweep portion of the Door Seal Kit. In the Standard size, the door sweep tape is 1/2"x 1.5" x 4' so it should be enough for one door. Q: Does this work around both doors of a french door including between the 2 doors?
Audimute
05/20/24
A: Hello, An Acoustic Door Seal is designed to be adhered to the door frame. The Door Seal compresses when the door is closed, creating an airtight space to help block sound transfer. The Acoustic Door Sweep is designed to be installed on the bottom side of the door to cover the space between the door and the floor. If you were to go on the inner portion of each door when applying the skinnier tape seal, this could cause the door to not close properly. To make sure you have enough of the seal material, you will want to make sure you measure your doors to make sure the standard size will be enough of the Door Seal tape for both doors. If not, you will want to order the large door seal kit instead. You can review those sizes and make the best selection off your measurements and confirm those details from the product page here: audimute.com/acoustic-door-seal-kit
